How To Reach Sankri Village from Dehradun:

By Air: The nearest airport to Sankri village is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is around 215 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Sankri village. It takes around 7-8 hours to reach Sankri village from the airport.

By Train: The nearest railway station to Sankri village is Dehradun Railway Station, which is around 185 km away. From the railway station, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Sankri village. It takes around 6-7 hours to reach Sankri village from the railway station.

By Road: Sankri village is well connected by road with major cities in Uttarakhand. You can take a bus or hire a taxi from Dehradun to Sankri village. The distance between Dehradun and Sankri village is around 200 km, and it takes around 6-7 hours to reach Sankri village by road.

 

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri (200 km, 7-8 hours)

Start your journey from Dehradun and reach Sankri village, which is the base camp for the Har Ki Dun Trek. The road journey is scenic and takes you through Mussoorie and the beautiful valleys of Uttarakhand. Last ATM at Purola. By evening, you will reach Sankri. We rest at night in a guest house or in camps.

 

Day 2: Sankri to Taluka (10km drive) Taluka to Seema (14km trek)            

Drive from Sankri to Taluka, a small village located at an altitude of 1,850 meters. From here, start the trek to Seema village, which is at an altitude of 2,560 meters. The trek takes you through dense forests, beautiful meadows, and small streams. While trekking you will find several spring-water points. Served with packed lunch. The trek level is an easy level walk and then gradual ascent is a few parts. Night stay in camp along with delicious dinner.

 

Day 3: Seema - Kalkati Dhar (8 km trek)

A long day of trekking as you will trek for 8km. Steeper ascent, witness beautiful meadows, waterfall & a variety of flora and fauna. You will be reaching kalkatidhar by evening. Packed lunch. Camp stay with mesmerizing views of nature

 

Day 4: Kalkatidhar to Har Ki Dun to Maninda Lake and back to Kalkatidhar (12 kms both side)

Easy ascent till Har Ki Dun summit then little moderate ascent to Maninda lake. Ruinsara lake is surrounded with meadows, rhododendron bushes. Mixed trail of boulders, meadows. You can see the waterfall along the way.

 

Day 05: Kalkatidhar To Seema (8 km trek)

Trek back to Seema village through the same route. You can also explore the village and its surroundings. Packed lunch

 

Day 6: Seema to Taluka (14km trek) Taluka to Sankri base camp (10km drive)

You will be trekking back to Taluka from Seema which is 14km. Served with hot delicious food. After reaching Taluka, we will drive to the Sankri base camp. Taluka to Sankri is a 10km drive. Stay in guest house.

 

Day 7: Departure from Sankri to Dehradun

Driving back to Dehradun from Sankri which is 210km. It is going to be a log drive of almost 10 hours, be prepared. You will be reaching Dehradun by evening. Get your bookings done accordingly in trains/ buses/ flights from Dehradun
